Here we are
Ok, now let's try to write something in English.
This is my first real blog. The truth is I already have one, but it's only about books and all that sort of things, so it's not a "real" blog, is it ? If you're interested in it, just click here. But I must warn you of two things. The first - and most important - thing is that it's written in French. The second thing is that sometimes it's a bit... strange.
Anyway. You might have noticed that I love clouds. In case you wondered what "cloud-cuckoo-land" means (I found this in my favourite English/French dictionary this morning), here is the definition given by Wikipedia : "Cloud Cuckoo Land refers to an (unrealistically) idealistic state where everything is perfect - "You're living in Cloud-cuckoo-land". It hints that the person referred to in quotation is naïve, unaware of reality or deranged in holding such an optimistic belief. The reference is to the play by the Athenian playwright Aristophanes, The Birds, in which the birds of the title, tired of the Earth and Olympus, decide to erect a perfect city between the clouds, to be named Cloud-Cuckoo-Land (Nephelokykkygia)." (I was a bit too lazy to rephrase it myself, sorry...)
Oh, you may also wonder who Uyulala is. Uyulala is a character from Michael Ende's novel The Neverending story. Uyulala is a voice. Yes, only a voice. She doesn't have a body, nor even a face. You can hear her, but you can't see her. The only way you can communicate with her is by making rhymes, otherwise she won't hear you. But if you manage to talk to her, then she'll be able to tell you the future. In my opinion she's one of the most wonderful characters in this story.
The last thing I have to explain to you about this blog is my avatar, because I doubt anybody can guess what it is without being given a small hint. Of course, it is a cloud. But if you look at it very carefully, maybe you will see something else which is hiding into it. Something which has got very large wings, and spits flames when it gets angry... Yes, it's a dragon ! If you can't see it, well, I fear you'll have to take my word for it...
That's all I have to say for now, so I guess I'll go to bed now because I feel a bit tired. Good night !
PS : if, luckily enough, you are a native English speaker and/or if you found any mistake in this text, feel free to post a comment, so that I can correct it :)
